Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Potential for Extension)
Pay Rate: $50-$70/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 4/10s - Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
(Start times are flexible)
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be eligible
to obtain site access and complete security clearance
protocols.
About the Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to support a
major government construction project based in Oak Ridge,
Tennessee. This role is ideal for a mechanically minded
professional who's comfortable applying HVAC principles in a highly
technical environment. This position starts as a one-year contract
with competitive hourly pay and the possibility of extension.
You'll be part of a collaborative engineering team tackling
everything from design and commissioning to safety analysis and
code compliance. If you have experience in HVAC system design and
want to contribute to a significant and impactful infrastructure

What You'll Do:
Develop and update HVAC design documents, including V&IDs and
formal calculations.
Contribute to the design, review, and commissioning of mechanical
systems.
Assist with walkdowns, testing, and safety evaluations on site.
Support hazard and safety analysis related to HVAC systems.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to resolve
mechanical interface issues.
Interpret industry codes and regulatory standards to ensure
compliance.
Serve as a technical resource for both the project team and
construction management.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2-5 years of professional engineering experience, or 6-9 years of
relevant industry experience without a degree.
Solid understanding of mechanical system design, especially
HVAC.
Familiarity with codes and standards (especially ASHRAE).
Proficiency in software tools such as:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Trane TRACE--- 700 and VariTrane--- Duct Designer
FATHOM and Arrow fluid analysis programs
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Experience with construction environments and an understanding of
project execution cycles.

requirements.
Random drug and alcohol testing is a condition of employment.
A background check and site security clearance will be required
prior to assignment.
