We currently have two locations in Kingsport, TN, and employ over 175 people. We service and make caps for the milk, water and juice industries. Position Summary : The Maintenance Breakdown Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on injection and compression molding equipment, secondary and conveyance equipment, including assemblers, inserters, printers, labelers, robots, etc. The Maintenance Technician is also able to perform setups, changeovers, adjustments, maintenance, repair and operations of various types of equipment to include assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes injection and compression molding operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components serving FDA regulated markets. This is a high-speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME). Job Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This role is responsible for fixing equipment in order to maintain operational efficiency in the plant. Works closely with the shift supervisor, Process Technicians, and operators to ensure machines are working properly and producing quality product.* Must be able to proficiently operate molding machines, conveyance equipment, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to affect repairs* Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment* Troubleshoot and diagnose pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical malfunctions on a variety of equipment QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be accurate and trustworthy with a positive attitude that embraces change and continuous improvement in a fast paced and dynamic environment* Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in an industrial manufacturing environment* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Excellent personal leadership and organizational skills* Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance required* Job description physical requirements* Performance and attendance issues in the last 12 months (cannot be on second written warning).
