Job Description BAE Systems Inc is recruiting for an Electrician to join our Electrical & Instrument Services team at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport TN. The successful candidate will possess considerable depth of experience in troubleshooting and repairing a variety of industrial production and utility equipment, electrical control circuits, and electrical construction in a continuous production environment. Primary responsibilities include preventive and/or corrective maintenance for chemical production and plant utility equipment including: motors, VFD's, PLC's, instrumentation, secondary power distribution, and elevators. Must be able to identify appropriate job materials, assist Line Crew, and communicate effectively with customers, management, and others in the department. Typical duties include the following: Testing, troubleshooting, & repair of electrical controls on utility and process equipment. Test, repair and maintain: elevators, switchgear, high current breakers, and high voltage pumps. Maintain electrical infrastructure including secondary power distribution, and motor controls. Maintain facility lighting systems. Completion of periodic electrical preventative maintenance on buildings and facility equipment. Effectively document corrective/preventive maintenance notes for CMMS program. Accurately record/report job time for KRONOS system. Assist Engineering with project implementation for modifications, upgrades, and installation of new equipment and/or control systems. Operate fork lift, hand tools, and hydraulic tools. Assist other crafts Explosive Maintenance, Control System Technicians, Line Crew, Non-Destructive Testing, Carpenters. Ability to use electrical schematics, single lines, P & ID s, shop mathematics, handbook formulas, some precision measuring instruments Perform complicated duties or assignments involving a fairly comprehensive knowledge of equipment/materials and process to meet customer, quality, and performance standards. Maintain a working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA, and OSHA Safety Procedures. Communicate frequently and effectively with other TEAM members and departments. Lock-out/tag-out and disable all energy sources for safe work on equipment. Willing to support plant operations in afterhours emergency situations and fill-in for Shift Electrician. Adherence to all Plant Protection Standards, PPE requirements, Company Policies, & Guidelines. Other duties as determined by E & I Team Leader or Department Manager. Required Skills and Education High school diploma or GED with Certified Journeyman Electrician completed 4 year technical electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent. Fiveyears minimum experience in an industrial electrician or maintenance technician role supporting a manufacturing environment. Preferred Skills and Education Associates degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Technology and/or certified Journeyman Electrician desired. Experience supporting electrical maintenance needs in water treatment and/or laboratory facilities.
