Job Description:
Electro-Mechanical LLC is seeking a driven and experienced
Assistant Plant Manager (2nd Shift) to support operations at our
Bristol, VA Facility. This on-site leadership position plays a key
role in managing daily production performance, ensuring product
quality, promoting safety, and driving process improvement
initiatives across all manufacturing areas. The Assistant Plant
Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and department
leadership to meet production targets, control costs, and develop
high-performing teams while fostering a safe, efficient, and
collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will bring
hands-on manufacturing experience, a deep understanding of
production operations, and strong leadership skills. This is an

continued growth and operational excellence. Responsibilities: The
Assistant Plant Manager (2nd Shift) is responsible for overseeing
and coordinating all plant operations during the second shift,
ensuring that safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are
consistently achieved. This role supports the Plant Manager in
strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement
initiatives while developing team leaders and ensuring effective
communication between shifts. The Assistant Plant Manager will also
participate in the development of operational budgets, capital
improvement projects, and workforce planning strategies that align
with company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and lead
all second-shift production operations, ensuring adherence to
production schedules, safety standards, and quality objectives.
Partner with department managers to drive continuous improvement
initiatives focused on productivity, safety, cost reduction, and
process efficiency. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators
(KPIs) for the shift, implementing corrective actions when goals
are not met. Support long-range planning by assisting with the
development of budgets, staffing plans, and production forecasts.
Maintain a strong presence on the production floor (approximately
50% of the time) to engage with associates, address concerns, and
ensure smooth operations. Foster a positive employee relations
environment that encourages engagement, communication, and a
union-free workplace. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and
Maintenance teams to resolve production issues, improve processes,
and ensure reliability of equipment and systems. Support training
and development of supervisors and associates, ensuring competency
in safety, quality, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance
with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards through proactive
monitoring and coaching. Evaluate production layouts, workflow, and
equipment utilization to optimize throughput and reduce
bottlenecks. Participate in the review and execution of capital
projects, including equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
Review performance metrics, costs, and operational data to identify
opportunities for improvement and operational excellence. Promote
continuous improvement through Area Focus Teams and
cross-functional collaboration. Represent the company
professionally in internal and external interactions, including
community and vendor relations. Educational and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Industrial, or
Manufacturing-related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of
7-10 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with at least
3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven track record
of achieving operational goals and implementing process improvement
initiatives. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, quality
systems (such as ISO), and cost control in a high-volume production
environment. Experience managing teams in a multi-shift operation
preferred. Additional Requirements: Excellent communication and
leadership skills with the ability to influence and develop teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to use data
to drive decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity
with ERP/MRP systems. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to
support plant operations. Commitment to maintaining a safe,
