Job Description:

Clinch Valley Medical CenterOperates the facility phone system to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls. Responsible for efficiently answering, screening and routing incoming calls.Essential Functions:

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
• Assist the public in a professional manner
• Overhead page
• Responsible for overhead paging the codes and the procedure(s) to follow once code is called (notifying key individuals and documenting type of code on log sheet)
• Maintain communication with Engineering when alarm(s) triggers or equipment malfunctions
• Maintain communications with Security to promote a more secure facility
• Maintain on-call schedules for use; Physician & Hospital Department specific
• Maintain beeper list and beeps physician and/or personnel accordingly
• Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues
• Attends department meetings, education sessions and hospital specific training programs
• Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and Mission and Value statement of the Hospital
• Supplies appropriate information to callers regarding patients within facility and HIPAA guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
