This position involves working in Labor and Delivery. The
nurse-patient ratio in the Labor and Delivery unit is 1:2. Float to
Mother/Baby based on staffing needs may be required. The role
includes the ability to handle high-risk deliveries and assist with
surgical procedures. BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications are
required. The position is for night shifts three times per week.
On-call duties are 36 hours every six weeks. Weekend requirements
involve working every other weekend or two weekends per month.
Travelers may face restrictions on requesting time off during
holiday weeks. Travel experience is required. No major holiday
time-off requests will be accommodated. Candidates must provide
proof of residency if offered. Charting system experience is
preferred. The role includes monitoring fetal heart rates and
assessing obstetrical patients. Candidates must be proficient in
administering medications and IV therapy. Support for breastfeeding
and lactation is expected. Knowledge of newborn care and postpartum
evaluation is necessary. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
is part of the job. Floating policies comply with current
standards. Essential skills include effective communication and
