Job Description:
Ballad Health and Norton Community Hospital (NCH) are seeking
quality Obstetrician-Gynecologists to join a longstanding OB
program supported by OB Hospitalists, 2 Family Nurse Practitioners,
Community Health Worker, breastfeeding consultant, and other office
staff to serve the needs of Wise County, the City of Norton, and
surrounding areas. Opportunity Details: Guaranteed Base Salary

and an NP on staff Seven LDRP's, 14 bassinets and available couplet
care Maternal Fetal Medicine services embedded in office via
telemedicine. C-sections performed in renovated NCH Family Birthing
Center Anesthesiology services available 24/7 with one of the four
CRNA’s or Anesthesiologist. Outpatient office conveniently located
on campus next to Family Birthing Center. Office is equipped with 2
Ultrasound techs 5 days per week, a Community Health worker and
Breastfeeding consultant that covers the outpatient office and
L&D unit along with a 2:1 Nurse provider ratio and full
clerical staff! Behavioral Health services available to your
patients via telemedicine. Access to the NICU at Niswonger
Children’s Hospital (a dedicated children’s facility and member of
Ballad Health) for high-risk deliveries. High risk patients are
co-managed by Maternal Fetal Medicine via telemedicine or in office
visits including deliveries when possible before NICU transport.
Staff and physicians work closely together as a team. Care provided
to low and high-risk patients including bariatric patients.
System-operated flight service and readily available Niswonger NICU
transport team is minutes away with 20–25-minute flight time from
Norton to Johnson City (Pediatric transport ambulance also
available). Our facility: Norton Community Hospital has completed
an extensive expansion of its surgery department which has
significantly enhanced its surgery services and has improved the
quality and efficiency of care. Norton Community Hospital (NCH), a
129-bed facility supports a wide range of health care services
including surgery, OB/GYN, pulmonary and critical care, cardiology,
general surgery, rehabilitation services and much more. Our
hospital is recognized for its outstanding inpatient rehabilitation
services, black lung clinic and high-quality imaging technology.
Recently, NCH completed a $13.1 million Health-Plex expansion, a
new 39,000-square foot facility that includes a Fit-One Wellness
Center, Pharmacy – offering a drive-thru and delivery services,
Occupational Medicine Health Center, Primary Care offices,
Orthopedics, Community Home Care, outpatient rehab and
cardiac/pulmonary rehab services. Our latest offering will include
a new childcare facility for Ballad Team Members and prehab clinic
opening. The draw area serves a population of 75,000 to 100,000
which includes Southwestern Virginia and Southeastern Kentucky.
Local physician primary care network supplies patient referrals
along with marketing support to attract new patients. As employed
physicians, this opportunity includes guaranteed base and the
opportunity to enhance compensation with an RVU-based productivity
model. Our Health System: Ballad Health is a 21-hospital health
system, covering a 29-county area and is made up of three tertiary
facilities, 18 community/critical access hospitals, seven cancer
centers, 18 Urgent Care locations, 40 primary care and multiple
