Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 36/36 schedule with every other weekend coverage required • No call responsibilities • Required to float to other units as needed • 2 years of nursing experience required • Accepts first time travelers • AHA BLS certification required • Med/Surg and Telemetry experience required • Must live 100 miles or more from the facility • 16 hours of non-billable orientation beginning on Sundays with online CBLs • Patient ratio experience with 1:7 MS ratios • Experience with Meditech charting system preferred • Required skills include telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code teams, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing/managing ports, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance, heparin and insulin administration, PCA, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac • Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education • Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only • Must complete drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start date • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed for fit testing per CDC guidelines • 4-5 hours of non-billable modules completed during orientation Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical-surgical unit serving adult patients with a daily census of 30. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services.
