Surg for a travel nursing job in Norton, Virginia. Job Description

Details: • Work 36/36 schedule with 12-hour shifts • Patient ratios
of 1:6 during days, nights, and weekends • Weekend coverage
required • Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience •
Previous charge experience preferred • Required certifications: BLS
(AHA), NIHSS preferred • Must be proficient in Epic charting system
• Skills required: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of
dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line
care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive
airway management, isolation precautions/PPE • Care for patients of
all ages: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics • 39-bed
unit with daily census of 28 patients • 24 hours of orientation
including 16 hours non-billable orientation • Must participate in
nursing student support and clinical education • Interdisciplinary
support includes physical therapy, respiratory services,
interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary •
Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census
decreases • Must complete drug test 12-14 days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed for CDC fit testing guidelines •
Complete 4-5 hours of non-billable modules during orientation
