Registered Nurse Contract - Start Date: December 7, 2025 - End
Date: March 8, 2026 - Contract Length: 13 weeks - Shift: Night
shifts, 12 hours (18:30 - 07:00) - Hours per Week: 36 - Patient
Ratio: 6:1 (Nights) - Unit Size: 39 beds - Patient Demographics:
Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics - Orientation: 16 hours
(non-billable), plus online modules - Weekend Coverage: Required
Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN)
license (Virginia or compact state; license in hand required at
submission) - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience -
Current AHA BLS certification required - NIHSS certification
preferred - Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR)
system required - Previous charge nurse experience preferred -
Community hospital nursing experience preferred - Willingness to
participate in fit testing (must comply with CDC guidelines for
facial hair) - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions
accepted) - Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from
Norton, VA - Ability to complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to
start date Med/Surg RN Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality
patient care in a fast-paced Medical Surgical unit - Interpret and
manage dysrhythmias; respond to rapid response and code teams -
Perform peripheral line care, oxygen administration (nasal cannula,
oxygen tanks), and non-invasive airway management - Implement
isolation precautions and MS/Tele protocols - Collaborate with
interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy,
Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary -
Support nursing students and participate in clinical education -
Document all patient care activities using Epic charting system -
Float and flex shifts as needed based on hospital census and
