JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Psychiatrist General Psychiatry • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Tazewell County & Buchanan County, VA • Service Setting: Correctional Facilities • Coverage Type: Clinical (Telehealth available; onsite preferred) • Coverage Period: 1 year • Clinical Shift Schedule: 40 hours/week (Specific days TBD) COVERAGE DATES • 1-year assignment (exact start date TBD) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Phone Consults: Yes Provider should be available 24/7 for emergency consultations • Case Mix: General Psychiatry (correctional population) FACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: Telehealth equipment available • Support Staff Available: Nurse Practitioners COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Virginia license • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry • DEA: Active DEA Certification • Certifications: NPI • Experience: No history of malpractice or disciplinary actions • Other Qualifications: Ability to handle correctional population and emergency phone consults DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Chief Psychiatrist • Deliver care either onsite or via telehealth (as applicable) • Be available for 24/7 emergency consultations via phone • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (when specified)
