About The Position Tazewell, TN Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Tazewell, TN. This position offers long-term coverage, flexible scheduling, and competitive compensation in a community-based emergency department with limited subspecialty backup. Opportunity Details: - Location: Tazewell, TN - Contract Type: Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens - Start Date: ASAP - Shift Schedule: - Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM - Night Shift: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM - Minimum Commitment: 24-30 shifts per month - Practice Setting: Physician-led Emergency Department - Facility Details: - Annual Volume: 37 patients per day - 21 ED Beds - No Trauma Designation - Limited Subspecialty Backup: General Surgery & Orthopedics - No APC Coverage - EMR System: MedHost - Scribe Coverage: None - Travel & Lodging: Provided Patient Load & Flow: - Patients Per Hour: 1.6 Procedures & Responsibilities: - Required Procedures: General EM procedures, including Intubation, Chest Tubes, and Central Lines - Code Response: - Hospital Medicine (HM) responds first - After 5 PM, the EM physician is responsible for code response - Admitting Orders: Handled by HM provider except from 2:30 AM – 6 AM, when ED physicians are responsible - From 2 AM – 7 AM, the EM physician is responsible for floor calls and codes due to the small HM program Provider Requirements: - Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine - Licensure: Active & Unrestricted TN State License & DEA - Required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (No grace period or lapse in certification allowed) Benefits & Support: - Competitive Weekly Pay - AAA Malpractice Coverage - Dedicated Credentialing Assistance This is an excellent opportunity for Emergency Medicine Physicians seeking a stable, high-responsibility role in a community hospital with flexible scheduling.
