We do what we say. - A Vice President, General Manager is needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with Day & Zimmermann located in Kingsport, TN. Develop and lead strategy execution, process improvement, modernization of facility and a strong safety culture. Exceed customer expectations for product safety and quality, delivery and cost on programs and projects. Provide clear leadership and vision to engage -1000 non-union employees and subcontractors to fulfil our promise to do what we say in support of protecting our freedoms, putting people to work, and powering the world. The Work You'll Be Doing:

  • Formulates and sets long term strategies to enhance competitiveness, grow market share, increase profitability and modernization. Responsible for driving growth by identifying and executing strategic opportunities, promoting innovation and continuous improvement. Performs external trend and historical data analysis to make data-driven decisions. Create a positive culture of engagement. Aligns strategic plans to support DZMG's "One Munitions" approach for success.
  • Acquire, develop, engage and retain talent to be a trusted partner for customers in support of tactical execution of programs and a strong safety culture with the strategic vision necessary to support and align for the customer's long term success.
  • Develop and leverage existing and new customer relationships by instilling trust and demonstrating excellence in Program Management resulting in new contract awards. Achieve annual GPP goals. Work with customers to ensure all Request for Equitable Adjustment (REA) are paid so that none carry over from year to year.
  • Partner across D&Z and with external partners to create a "One Munitions" solution for our customers that exceeds expectations. While continued emphasis will remain with the Joint Program Executive Officer for Armament & Ammunition (JPEO A&A) and expanding into other Army offices, services, and domestic and international partners. What You Need to Bring to the Table:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Business Management. Master's (MBA) degree preferred
    • Minimum 15 with at least 10 in senior leadership role in defense acquisitions or midscale chemical plant operations.
    • Experience in US Government Defense Acquisition Systems to include funding, project management and contracting; extensive knowledge of ammunition/explosive products and ammunition or chemical industry. US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
    • Great attitude, interpersonal skills, and team player.
